From Experimentation to Ownership: Why the Future Belongs to Companies That Own AI

At Google Cloud Next, EVERSANA’s Chief Innovation Officer, Faruk Capan, joined leaders from Salesforce and Palo Alto Networks for a discussion centered on a challenge many organizations are facing right now: moving from experimenting with AI to operating with it at scale.

What became clear through that conversation is what we’ve pioneered at EVERSANA has revolutionized an entire industry.

AI doesn’t transform businesses through access alone. Transformation happens through ownership.

Our journey started with experimentation, but pilots alone cannot change how a business operates. Learning does. As Faruk Capan put it, “AI upskilling wasn’t optional—it was foundational to our strategy.” We made learning the activation layer for our workforce to move AI from curiosity to capability—building comfort first, then confidence, and ultimately scale.

By embedding AI into daily work rather than isolating it, teams stopped asking whether AI was allowed and started focusing on how to make outcomes better. We intentionally started small, applying AI to high-friction tasks to reduce risk and accelerate time to value. That foundation enabled non-technical teams to build, adapt, and operate with AI safely, responsibly and compliantly.

The turning point came when we stopped aligning AI to existing workflows and instead aligned it to the future our clients needed.

Across life sciences, traditional agency models are structurally broken by rising costs, longer timelines, and increasing demand for personalized, compliant content at scale. Incremental AI could not solve that. A new operating model could.

That realization led us to build the industry’s first AI-powered agency platform in partnership with Google Cloud—purpose-built for pharmaceutical commercialization, not experimentation. Designed with AI at the core and humans in the loop, the platform enables clients to own and scale AI across brands and portfolios while maintaining control of the data, outputs, and compliance. It delivers speed and efficiency today, while creating a durable, enterprise-grade asset for the future. What once took a traditional agency model months, now can take just minutes.

Owning AI means owning the data, the outputs, and the impact— rather than renting fragmented point solutions or building capabilities every time the technology shifts. It means investing in a platform that scales across brands, markets, and use cases and evolves as AI itself advances.

AI skills evolve quickly, which means enablement cannot be episodic. The companies that win will not be those that experiment the most, but those that embed AI into how the business runs, measures outcomes, and scales forward.

Ownership is the difference between using AI and leading with it.
