With more than two decades of experience in public relations and public affairs, Joanne advises her clients in industry and the non-profit sector in all aspects of traditional and digital communications.

With more than two decades of experience in public relations and public affairs, Joanne advises her clients in industry and the non-profit sector in all aspects of stakeholder engagement and advocacy. Her expertise is deeply rooted in healthcare and enhanced by roles directing communications for two national patient advocacy organizations. During her career, Joanne has worked in many therapeutic areas, including neurology, oncology, rheumatology, respirology and a wide range of rare diseases.

She has built and led several successful pan-Canadian drug approval and reimbursement campaigns to ensure novel therapies are accessible to all Canadians who can benefit from them. Additionally, Joanne was chosen to lead a team that worked closely with Cancer Care Ontario and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to launch Canada’s first colorectal cancer screening program to healthcare providers.

Joanne holds an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto and volunteers for several rare disease patient groups, including serving as a Director for the Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders.
