Missed Connection or Meant to Be?
EVERSANA is raising the questions the industry is thinking but is too afraid to ask aloud: Has omnichannel lived up to its promise of the “right message at the right time” to drive meaningful results that wouldn’t otherwise be realized by traditional sales and marketing strategies? Are those “seamless brand experiences” integrating the right mix of digital tools and one-on-one personal engagements accelerating patients’ time to therapy and delivering business impact? Are more prescriptions being written and fulfilled to validate the time, money and resources allocated? Unfortunately, the conclusion is no. The promise of omnichannel activation has fallen short for many pharma manufacturers due to stifling obstacles, coupled with high […]

Flipping the Script to Disrupt, Redefine and Accelerate the Patient Care Journey
During the COVID-19 pandemic, patients and providers began to recognize the considerable benefits of telehealth services. Patient demand and notable increases in access to care for many have compelled the industry to adopt telehealth as a modern way to treat patients efficiently and effectively. This advancement ushered in more consciousness around the notion that the widespread acceptance that a patient’s treatment journey will likely be a lengthy, stressful and complicated one should no longer be the standard by which we all live. Waiting months to see a specialist, driving long distances to appointments, not knowing if treatments and prescriptions will be covered, and other endless frustrations have long plagued the […]

Reimagining the SpecialtyRx Patient Journey Through the Lens of a Digital Consumer
Nearly 32% of Americans suffer from complex, chronic or rare conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, genetic disorders or cancer, many of which require a specialty prescription therapy. Despite being only 3% of overall prescriptions, specialty medications represent nearly 50% of the overall prescription drug spend in the U.S. While we have moved to the on-demand economy in most sectors, many steps in the SpecialtyRx journey still require paper, faxes and phone calls. Once receiving a diagnosis and prescription for a complex therapy, many patients are often left to manage their own care, and both doctors and patients are frustrated by the lack of consistent and transparent communication at every stage […]

The following opinion piece was written by Scott Snyder, Chief Digital Officer, for [email protected] Outsider attempts to reinvent healthcare have done little to move the needle despite billions invested in promising concepts like Microsoft’s HealthVault, IBM’s Watson Health, Theranos, Google’s Contact Lens, Drugstore.com, and more recently Helix and Haven. So, what happened? Maybe they failed to recognize that the healthcare industry […]
