Ankita joined the Value & Evidence group at EVERSANA after completing her MSc in Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. She has several years of experience in academic research, with specializations in evolutionary biology, virology and stem cell biology. Ankita has a special interest in economic modeling and has supported the development and adaptation of various models at EVERSANA. The types of projects that Ankita has undertaken have included targeted literature reviews, value dossiers, manuscript development, cost calculator models, and the adaptation of cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for regional submissions.

Budget Impact Analysis of Minimally Invasive Versus Open Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion for Lumbar Degenerative Disease in Europe

When traditional therapies fail to provide relief from pain caused by lumbar degenerative diseases, surgical approaches such as transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) may be used. TLIF can be performed using traditional open techniques (O-TLIF) or minimally invasive techniques (MI-TLIF). Although the clinical differences between O-TLIF and MI-TLIF have been evaluated extensively in meta-analyses, there remains a lack of established economic evidence.
