THE DETAILS

PANAMA CITY, Panama — Under Executive Decree No. 855, agencies, drugstores and laboratories with a valid license in Panama, granted by the National Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs, will be allowed to import drugs for the treatment of COVID-19.

Published in the Official Gazette, Executive Decree No. 855 temporarily suspends the application of Article 8 of Executive Decree No. 36, from January 17, 2020, to COVID-19 drugs that enter by exception to the Health Registry.

The new decree is signed by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen and the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre and begins to take effect from its proclamation.

Under Article 3 of the Decree, the responsibility of importing drugs for the treatment of COVID-19 is given to the legal representative and the pharmaceutical manager of the importing establishment.
